PFE Dance Showcase is an annual Ukrainian dance competition organized and hosted by Pavlychenko Folklorique Ensemble. Established in 2004, the intention was to re-establish a competition located in Saskatoon, and has now become an anticipated annual event.

This festival hosts dance groups from across the nation and is open to competitors from every province. Spanning over a four-day period, the competition portion is unique in having both a male and female adjudicator evaluate each dance. In 2017, we enjoyed a record number of entries (over 500) with more than 2500 dancers on stage during the festival.

The event also includes a dance showcase performance. The showcase presents dances of the adjudicator’s choice and allows dancers an additional opportunity to perform non-competitively. The show is free and is open for anyone to attend and enjoy. The showcase performance will be scheduled as per the amount and type of entries received, and is typically held on Saturday evening.

PFE Dance Showcase hopes to encourage a positive dancing atmosphere promoting interactions and friendships with other dancers.

We invite you to come and join us to enjoy some terrific dancing while experiencing this wonderful aspect of the Ukrainian culture!

In 2018, the festival will be held from Thursday, April 19th to Sunday, April 22nd at Prairieland Park, Hall A, Saskatoon. We look forward to having you join us for another exciting time!

Check back in early fall to see our deadlines and online registration.
